A host of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are lining-up to sign Peterborough United’s teenage forward Ricky Jade-Jones.
A graduate of the academy at the League One club, Jade-Jones has been watched by scouts from a clutch of clubs this season, scoring on his full debut against Cambridge United, and in his first appearance in the FA Cup against Stevenage.
Spurs have already made an initial approach for him of £2 million but that was turned down, and now a bidding war for the 17-year old could be triggered in the January window.
Peterborough have strengthened their bargaining position by tying the teenager down to a new long-term deal which he signed on his 17th birthday, but they are reconciled to the fact that they are likely to lose him to a bigger club.
Peterborough are currently managed by Darren Ferguson, son of former United boss Sir Alex.
