Reports emerging from Spain suggest that Manchester United are interested in signing Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu.
The 20-year old Ghanaian has a release clause of £10 million, and the Premier League club are reported to be ready to activate this in January.
They also have a built-in advantage because the player’s agent is the father of current United midfielder Juan Mata.
The youngster is highly rated by the Spanish club and is under contract until 2020. The newly promoted La Liga side are desperate to hang on to him, at least until the end of the season, , butmay be forced to sell him as the list of potential suitors continues to grow, with Everton, Newcaste, Southampton and Norwich City all monitoring his progress.
Salisu came through the youth set-up at Valladolid, breaking through into the first-team last season. He has started all 14 of their matches so far this campaign.
