Tottenham are reported to be monitoring the situation of Bournemouth defender Nathan Aké.
The North London club are looking for a replacement for Jan Vertonghen who has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane when his contract expires next summer.
The 24-year old is viewed as an ideal replacement, but one impediment to any move for the Dutch international could be the past relationship between Aké and the new Spurs manager Jose Mourinho when they were both at Chelsea together.
At that time Aké grew frustrated when he was demoted to the reserves at Stamford Bridge under his Portuguese boss. However, he has since demonstrated his value with his performances for Bournemouth who he joined from Chelsea in a £20 million deal two years ago.
However, Chelsea might also have a say in the matter, since they are reported to have a £39 million buy-back clause for their former defender.
