Jose Mourinho is in talks to become the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur
That is after Mauricio Pochettino, along with assistant manager Jesus Perez, and coaches Miguel d’Agustino and Antoni Jimínez were all relieved of their responsibilities at White Hart Lane on Tuesday.
And, despite online polls on social media suggesting that many Spurs fans preferred Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe, RB Leipzig’s Julian Nagelsman, or former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri, Mourinho is the clear favourite to become the new Spurs boss.
Mourinho has been out of work since being sacked as manager of Manchester United last December, and has turned down a number of job opportunities in China, Spain, and Portugal.
If negotiations are successful between the parties involved, an agreement with Mourinho could be in place by Wednesday morning, and his appointment announced on Thursday.
Spurs do not have long to get their new man in place. Their next match is away to West Ham on Saturday lunchtime.
