Manchester United are set to enquire about the availability of in-demand striker Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian teenager has become one of the most sought after young players in Europe during the first part of the season, having already scored 26 goals in just 18 appearances for his club Red Bull Salzburg. That has seen his value soar, and the Austrian club already value the 19 year old at £85 million.
Now United are ready to make a formal approach for him, before his cost increases further, and to try and gazump attempts by other European clubs like Juventus, Barcelona, and Real Madrid to sign him instead.
Instead they may try to sign him when the January window opens, this avoiding getting into a bidding war. and then will attempt to sweeten the deal as far as Salzburg are concerned by lending him back to them for the rest of the season.
