Gareth Bale is closing in on a move to Manchester United, either in January or next summer, and could form part of a swap deal with Paul Pogba.
The Welsh captain is out of favour at the Bernabeu with manager Zinedine Zidane, and was on the verge of a move to Chinese Super League side Jiansu Suning in the summer, which would have earned him close to £1 million a week, only for Real to torpedo the deal at the last minute by demanding a transfer fee.
However, with the relationship between Bale and Zidane having deteriorated even further, the Spanish club are now prepared to let him go, and are ready to sue him as part of the deal to entice long-term target Pogba to the Spanish capital.
Bale’s current weekly wages of £650,000 have proved a major barrier for any club willing to acquire his services up to now, and he is aware that he will have to lower his salary demands if he wants to return to the Premier League.
