Pochettino facing point of no return

Mauricio Pochettino’s future as manager of Spurs could be in jeopardy, and a loss to West Ham United in their next league match could spell the end of the Argentine’s spell in charge at White Hart Lane.

Saturday’s draw with Sheffield United left Spurs in 14th place in the Premier League table going into the international break, a point ahead of the Hammers, and trailing Manchester City, who occupy the least Champions League place currently, by 11 points.

Now the fixture with West Ham could be decisive for Spurs and their manager. West Ham are in a poor run of form themselves, having not won in the league since September, but Tottenham themselves have not won on the road since beating Fulham in January.

Both West Ham and Arsenal have given what has amounted to votes of confidence for their beleaguered managers, Manuel Pellegrini and Unai Emery, but Spurs have chosen to remain silent, prompting speculation that a change at the helm is being considered.
