18 year old Cole Bassett, who plays for MLS side Colorado Rapids, is to spend a week training with the Arsenal under-23 side.
The midfielder, who professes himself to be an Arsenal fan, played against the team he supports in the summer during their pre-season tour of America , and now has the chance to impress during a spell in London.
The Rapids and Arsenal are both owned by KSE, the investment vehicle headed by San Kroenke, so the connection already exists between the two clubs.
The teenager made 20 MLS appearances last season, scoring twice, and providing one assist, as the Rapids finished a disappointing season 9th in the Western Conference.
Currently valued at just £540,000 if he impresses sufficiently during his trial, he may represent a bargain buy for the future, if Arsenal decide to go ahead and make an offer for him in the January transfer window.
