Manchester United have begun preparations for the transfer of West Ham and England star Declan Rice.
That is after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer put the 20 year old top of his transfer shortlist as he looks for a player who can supply drive and tenacity in midfield following the departure from the club of both Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera.
And with uncertainty over the futures of both Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba, the need to find a suitable replacement is paramount.
Any move for Rice, who will cost at least £80 million, is likely to have to wait until the end of the season, but the Old Trafford club have begun tp put steps in place in case there is a chance of signing him in January.
Rice is under contract at West Ham until 2024, having signed a new deal with the East London club last December, and has previously insisted that he is happy at the Hammers.
