Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move in the January transfer window for Red Bull Salzburg forward Erling Haaland.
The son of former Leeds United and Manchester City midfielder, Alfe-Inge, Haaland is one of the hottest young properties in Europe right now, having scored 21 goals in just 14 games for his club side, Austrian league leaders Red Bull Salzburg.
The 19 year old Norwegian international is on the radar of many of Europe’s top clubs, and Serie A side Napoli were keen to put an arrangement to sign Haaland in the next transfer window.
However, reports in Italy say that Napoli have apparently cooled their interest because they are convinced that the teenage forward is set to join Manchester United in January instead, and that they simply do not have the financial might to compete with what United are prepared to offer Salzburg to part with him.
