Manchester United are set to bid for highly regarded Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, but face competition from many of Europe’s top teams.
Club scouts watched the 19 year old Brescia player, who has been described as a cross between Andrea Pirlo and Gennero Gattuso, in action last week, and saw him play the full 90 minutes as his side drew with Fiorentina In a match that finished nil – nil.
Tonali is enjoying his first season in Serie A, having helped Brescia win promotion from the Italian second division last campaign. Despite his relative inexperience though, he has already attracted the attention of the likes of Manchester City, Atlético Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain, whilst all the leading Italian clubs are set to be tracking his progress as well.
Earlier this month, Tonali made his full international debut, coming on a substitute in the 5–0 away win against Liechtenstein in Vaduz in Italy’s last round of Euro 2020 qualifiers.
