Real Madrid have turned down a bid from Arsenal of £25 million for midfielder Dani Ceballos.
The Spanish midfielder joined the Gunners on a season long loan from Real in the summer, and the arrangement contained no option to buy, with the player originally intending to go back to the Spanish capital at the end of the season to fight for his place in the La Liga side.
However, he has taken to life in North London and had a change of mind, enjoying both his football, and the reception he has received from Gunners’ supporters, having quickly become a fan favourite.
That has led Arsenal to make a bid already to sign him, but despite Real having already substantially dropped their valuation of the player, they believe that £25 million is too little, and are holding out for £30 million.
It is likely that Arsenal will go back to Real with an improved offer, and that Ceballos will become a permanent player for the Gunners in the next few months.
