West Bromwich Albion teenager Nathan Ferguson is one of Tottenham’s major transfer targets for January.
Since selling Kieran Trippier to Altético Madrid in the summer, right-back has become a problem position for Mauricio Pochettino, and he is hoping that Ferguson may be the answer to his defensive problem.
Scouts from the club have been looking for somebody who can claim the position as his own, and have been sending back very favourable reports about Ferguson, who has actually been playing on the left-side for Albion, even though he is naturally right-footed.
Ferguson has been capped by England at under 18, under 19 and under 20 level, is under contract until the summer of 2020. Albion do not want to sell him and are prepared to offer him a new deal with the Midlands club as they prepare to make a promotion challenge, but the player may be unable to resist the lure of playing in the Premier League, with Crystal Palace also very keen on acquiring his services.
