Former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is very close to agreeing a deal to become the new Manchester United boss.
That is according to Tuttosportwho report that the United hierarchy are ready to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and appoint Allegri in his place in a deal worth £6.5 million a year.
And Allegri is going to bring striker Mario Mandźukić – already heavily linked with a January move to Old Trafford – and former Liverpool midfielder Emre can with him. There are also suggestions that former United favourite, Patrice Evra, could be handed a leading coaching role by Allegri at his old club.
52 year old Allegri has been taking a sabbatical since stepping down from Juventus at the end of last season. He has a glittering CV, having won five Serie A titles and four Coppa Italias during his time in Turin, having also previously won the league with AC Milan.
Now United are hoping that he could be the man to revive their ailing fortunes.
