Midfielder Dani Ceballos has dropped hints about his future that may give hope to Arsenal fans who want the club to sign him on a permanent basis.
The 23 year old joined the Gunners on a season long loan from Real Madrid in the summer, with no option for the North London side to buy him.
However, he has quickly become a fan favourite with Arsenal fans, and scored his first goal for the club last week in their 4 – 0 defeat of Standard Liege in the Europa League. And his performances have earned him a promotion from the under-21 squad, for whom he impressed during the European Championships in the summer, to the full Spanish national team.
Now he has admitted that he was glad to leave Madrid and move to London, because he was simply not enjoying his football at Real, after failing to convince Zinedine Zidane that he was worth a place in his plans.
Ceballos said: “I have eight months left at Arsenal, I can only thank them for the confidence that the coach and fans have placed in me, who have already made me a song. I am very happy there and I hope to continue for a long time”
