Arsenal scouts watched Russian forward Aleksandr Sobolev play for Kryliya Sovetov, as they beat Sochi 2 – 0 at the weekend.
That is according to the player himself who was informed by club officials.
The 22-year old is regarded as one of the hottest properties in the Russian league right now, and scored both goals in the victory over Sochi, taking his tally to the season so far to ten.
He has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, but the striker downplayed the rumours of a move to England, saying “It is my dream to play in England but in order to do so I have to keep on scoring goals, training and working hard.’
Sobolev
made his professional debut with FC Tom Tomsk in 2016, making the switch to
Sovetov two years later. He spent a period on loan at Yenisey Krasnoyarsk at
the start of the year, for whom he scored 5 goals in 10 appearances.
He has just received his first call-up to the senior Russia side.
