Manchester United scouts were in the stadium to watch Lyon forward Moussa Dembélé again on Sunday night as their interest in the striker hots up.
It has been well-documented that buying another striker in January is a priority, with Marcus Rashford and teenager Mason Greenwood the only recognised forwards at the club and with the former in poor form at present.
Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson and out of favour Juventus striker Mario Mandžukić have also been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, but Dembélé is reported to be top of the United wish list, and they have been tracking his performances all season.
Sunday though may not have been the best day to catch Dembélé, however, as his Lyon side travelled to St. Etienne, bottom of Ligue 1, and with a new manager after sacking the previous incumbent, and lost 1 – 0. Dembélé himself, did not start the match but only came on as a substitute with half an hour to go, by which time his side was already trailing.
