Liverpool are keeping tabs on Brazilian David Neres, who was part of the Ajax side that had such a stellar campaign last season, winning the domestic league and cup double, and going all the way to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The 22-year old winger was an integral part of that success, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions, and forced his way into the Brazil national team, winning 5 caps already this year, and scoring his first goal in a friendly win over Honduras in June.
He was linked with a big money move away from Ajax in the summer but, instead, decided to say and signed a new four-year deal with the Amsterdam side.
Now he has made his way onto Liverpool’s radar, with Jurgen Klopp aware of the need to gradually refresh his squad. Mo Salah, Sadio Mané, and Roberto Firmino are his firmly established front three for now, but there have been repeated suggestions that Salah could leave at the end of the season, especially if Liverpool end their long drought and win the Premier League at last.
