Manchester United are planning a January transfer raid on Spurs for Lucas Moura and Eric Dier.
27-year old Moura is high on United’s wanted list, as they seek to supplement their attacking options, with his versatility a major plus point in his favour – he can play through the middle, down the flanks or even operate behind the main striker. And, although he only signed a new contract with Spurs in the summer, the Brazilian is unhappy with his current limited role in North London.
Prior to Saturday lunchtime’s trip to Leicester, he had either started on the bench or been subbed in every one of Spurs’ Premier League games this season, and that trend continued at the weekend. He was only introduced to the game in the 86th minute as a replacement for Tanguy Ndombélé, by which point his side were trailing 2 – 1.
Dier is another player who is not content with his lot at White Hart Lane, having not played a single minute of Premier League football so far this season. Saturday was his sixth consecutive league game this season he has been an unused substitute from the bench.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
