Not content with raiding Manchester United for Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, Inter Milan have been linked with a move for another Premier League striker in the shape of Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud.
The former Arsenal player and World Cup winner finds himself out of favour at Stamford Bridge, where he has started just one game this season, with manager Frank Lampard instead preferring the academy graduate Tammy Abraham, who has repaid the faith shown in him with seven Premier League goals this season already.
Now Inter could be ready to bring him to Italy, with the 32 year old, who is out of contract next summer with the West London club, considered to be an inexpensive option for the Milanese club, who are looking to supplement their forward line.
Lukaku moved to Inter from United in the summer for £80 million but, despite his transfer fee, question marks are already being placed against his name. After a good start to the season, he was poor against Udinese last weekend, and was rated the worst player on the pitch as Inter struggled to a 1 – 1 draw with Slavia Prague in the Champions League on Tuesday night, only scrambling a draw with an injury-time equaliser.
