Arsenal are interested in signing Hungarian central midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who currently plays for the Austrian champions, Red Bull Salzburg.
The Gunners have been tracking the 18 year old for some time, and made an initial approach for him in the summer. However, that was rebuffed by the player who felt that it came too soon, and that he needed to get more experience with Salzburg before making such a move.
However, they could be back in for him next summer, especially with loan signing Dani Ceballos due to return to Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Szoboszlai, who made his debut as a 17 year old for Salzburg at the end of the 2017 – 2018 season is highly regarded, and his stock will only have risen after he scored one of the Austrian side’s goals as they thrashed Belgian side Genk 6 – 2 in their Champions League group game on Wednesday night.
