Liverpool are closely monitoring Trabzonspor goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır, with scouts from the club in the stadium to watch him in action against Fenerbahçe at the weekend.
And the 23 year old did not disappoint, producing a fine save to earn his side a point in a one-all draw on Sunday.
Çakır made his full international debut for Turkey in a friendly against Greece in May, and is valued at £14 million, with French club Bordeaux also keeping tabs on the young goalkeeper.
The Anfield club are in the market for a long-term back-up for Alisson, Free transfer Adrian has been deputising for the injured Brazilian, whilst their third choice keeper is youngster Caoimhin Keller, who was on the bench for the trip to Southampton at the weekend.
They also have on their books at present Andy Lonerghan, with the former Preston keeper signed on a short-term contract to provide emergency cover.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
