Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is furious with the club’s hierarchy over their failure to sign Paul Pogba during this transfer window.
Pogba has been linked with a move to Real all summer, with the Frenchman dropping broad hints during a commercial tour of Asia in June that he was ready for a new challenge. His agent, Mino Raiola, then gave a series of interviews in which he talked up the likelihood of his client leaving United, and even Pogba’s brother weighed in with comments suggesting he was ready to join Real.
Yet the Spanish club have failed to make any meaningful offer for the 26-year old, and now Zidane believes that they never had any serious intention of buying him, and that he has been let down and lied to by Real’s President Florentino Pérez.
Meanwhile, Pogba has told United officials he will not sign a contract extension, indicating that he does not believe his long-term future lies with the club.
