One of the leading bookmakers, Corals, has been forced to suspend betting on manager Mauricio Pochettino quitting Spurs before the end of September.
That is following a flurry of bets which saw the odds on the Argentine departing the club drop to as low as 1/6 on, before they took action.
The news comes amidst reports of unrest behind the scenes at Tottenham, with Pochettino issuing several open digs at chairman Daniel Levy about the club’s transfer policy. The 47-year old has also been a vocal critic of the decision by English clubs to close their transfer window on August 8th, more than three weeks before the rest of Europe. He argues that this makes squads unsettled, knowing that key players could still move even after the season has started, with a case in being Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, and Toby Alderweireld, all of whom continue to be linked with transfers abroad.
