Nemanja Matic is pressing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for an urgent meeting to discuss his future at the club.
The 31 year old Serbian international has seen his central midfield berth taken by Scott McTominay, and has started all three of United’s Premier League games so far this season on the bench, and has yet to make it on to the pitch.
Now Matic wants to sit down with his manager and find out what, if any, are the Norwegian’s future plans for him at Old Trafford. The midfielder was a firm favourite of former boss José Mourinho who not only signed him when he was in charge at Chelsea, but brought him with him in 2017 when he moved to United in 2017, paying a £40 million fee for him.
With Solskjaer clearly favouring youth, Matic fears he could be squeezed out of the first team picture this season. A number of European clubs are believed to be monitoring his situation with a view to making a move for him before the September 2nd transfer deadline.
