Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is in line for a new deal with Chelsea which will more than double his current wages of £50,000 a week.
The 21-year old still has three years left on his existing deal with the club, but Chelsea now feel that his wages need to be brought in line with other members of the first-team squad, after both Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek signed new contracts with the club in the summer.
Abraham had a highly successful loan spell with Aston Villa last season, scoring 26 goals and helping them secure promotion from the Championship. He has been handed the number nine shirt by Frank Lampard for this season, but was the subject of disgraceful online racist abuse the vital spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out loss to Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup final.
However, he was strongly backed by his manager and defied the social media trolls by scoring his first two goals for the club in their 3 – 2 win at Norwich on Saturday.

He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
