Serie A side Fiorentina want to sign central midfielder Fred from Manchester United.
The 26 year old Brazilian international, who has eleven senior caps for his country, was signed in June 2018 by José Mourinho, who beat off competition from neighbours Manchester City, to secure his signature of €59 million (£53.5 million).
However, he has failed to establish himself in Manchester, making 25 appearances for the club last season, and scoring one goal. However, he has not appeared for the first team since an FA Cup tie against Reading in January, and, although featuring on United’s pre-season tour, has not featured at all for the club this campaign, ands was not included in the match day squad that was surprisingly beaten at home by Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Now Fiorentina are ready to tempt United’s willingness to keep the player by offering €30 million (£27 million), although whether the Premier League side are prepared to accept such a substantial capital loss so soon remains to be seen.
