Manchester United want to raid Leicester City again in the January transfer window for another of their brightest stars.
Having prised Harry Maguire out of the King Power Stadium this summer for £80 million, the Old Trafford side want to reunite him with his former team mate James Maddison.
The 22 year old midfielder is set to be named in Gareth Southgate’s next England squad, forestalling an approach from the Irish Football Association who want him to switch his international allegiance to them.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that Maddison offers the guile, craft and energy that he is looking for as he attempts to overhaul the United squad, qualities that were lacking in their Saturday defeat at home to Crystal Palace.
Leicester do not want to sell Maddison, who they bought from Norwich City in June 2018, and it will take a fee of the same magnitude that they received for Maguire to persuade them to part with him.
