Alexis Sánchez could be on the verge of joining former Manchester United team mate, Romelu Lukaku, at Inter Milan.
The United misfit is desperate to leave Old Trafford, with reports that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has threatened to make him train with the reserves. And now Inter look to have offered him a lifeline, with an offer to take the Chilean striker on loan for the season, with an option to buy next summer of £13.75 million.
The Serie A side are also prepared to cover a substantial portion of Sánchez’s weekly wages of £505,000 which have proved such an obstacle when it comes to other clubs wanted to make an offer for him.
Now it is up to United to decide whether to accept the offer, although it is hard to see how Sánchez will fit into their first-team plans if he does stay at Old Trafford this season.
