Manchester United’s Swedish defender Victor Lindelof is in line for a lucrative new contract which will see him effectively double his wages.
A £30 million summer signing from Benfica, he had a shaky start to his United career, and was in and out of the side. And, earlier in the summer, he was even linked with a move away to Barcelona. However, he has since solidified his place, and, with Harry Maguire now at the club, United are hoping that they have identified the defensive partnership that will serve them for years to come.
The 25 year old has two years’ worth on his current deal which is worth £75,000 a week, although, like many contracts at Old Trafford, it contains an option for a further 12 months. Now he is set to be offered a new three year contract extension by United which will see his wages soar to £150,000 a week.
