Roma have made enquiries about taking Manchester United forward Alexis Sánchez on a season-long loan.
The Chilean has only just returned to United after a delayed holiday because of his involvement with his country in the Copa América, having played just 65 minutes for the club in pre-season, featuring in a match against Blackburn’s under-23 side. He has been given an intensive training schedule to help him catch up to his team mates, but still races a battle to be fit for United’s opening weekend clash with Chelsea.
And, despite having sold Romelu Lukaku, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be open to allow Sanchez to leave the club, given that he has scored just five times since his high profile move from Arsenal.
If the move were sanctioned, United would have to subsidise a large part of the striker’s weekly wages of £391,000, which rise to over £500,000 when bonuses are factored in as well.
