Arsenal’s strike duo of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexander Lacazette are in talks about new contracts with the club.
30-year old Aubameyang, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund in January last year, still has two years left on his current deal. Lacazette, two years his junior, has even longer left, currently contracted until 2022, having signed a five year deal when he joined from Lyon in the summer of 2017.
However, the club are not prepared to let either of them run down their deals at the Emirates, having seen Aaron Ramsey leave the club on a free at the end of last season, and the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Robin van Persie in the past sold below their true market value.
Now a more ruthless contract policy will be applied by the Gunners, not just when it comes to these two players, but all their big name stars – sign a new deal or risk being sold.
