Tottenham Hotspur are expecting European clubs to try to make a last minute bid to sign Christian Eriksen this summer.
The Dane is in the final year of his contract at White Hart Lane, and having refused to sign a new deal, has been linked with a move away from the club this summer. Spurs meanwhile have been working hard to sign a replacement for the Dane, and are trying to get a move for either Bruno Fernandes or Giovani Lo Celso over the line before the English transfer window slams shut.
If Eriksen is still with the side then, Spurs are expecting some of the big European clubs – like Juventus, or the two Madrid teams – to try to sign him on the cheap before their own transfer window closes on September 2nd.
Chairman Daniel Levy had valued Eriksen at £130 million last season, but given they risk him walking away on a free next summer, they may be tempted to cash in on the 27 year old now.
