Liverpool have concluded a swift piece of transfer business replacing the departed Simon Mignolet with free agent Adrian.
31-year old goalkeeper Mignolet was an unused substitute on the bench on Sunday as Liverpool lost the Community Shield to Manchester City on penalties.
Hours later he was jetting back to his native Belgian to sign a five year deal with Club Brugge, after Liverpool accepted a £6.5 million offer for him.
However, the Anfield side wasted no time to bringing in a replacement as back-up goalkeeper for Alisson Becker, signing former West Ham goalkeeper Adrian, who was available on a free transfer after leaving the hammers in the summer.
Spaniard Adrian joined West Ham from La Liga side Real Betis in 2013, and went on to make 150 appearances for the East London side in six years.
He becomes Liverpool’s third signing of the summer, after teenagers Sepp van der Bergen and Harvey Elliott.
