The rumours linking Fulham teenage wing-back Ryan Sessegnon with a transfer deadline day move to Tottenham have intensified after he was left out of their match day squad on the weekend.
The side that travelled to Barnsley on Saturday for their opening day fixture back in the Championship did not feature Sessegnon at all, although manager Scott Parker later insisted that he missed the 1 – 0 defeat at Oakwell because of a hamstring injury.
However, those denials have done little to dampen the speculation, with Spurs believed to be increasingly confident of securing a £27 million deal for the England under-21 international before the transfer window slams shut for clubs in the Premier League and Championship.
Sessegnon is out of contract at Craven Cottage in the summer and has made clear his desire to leave the club, and his unwillingness to spend another season playing in the second tier of English football.
