The proposed deal which would see Romelu Lukaku move to Juventus with Argentine playmaker Paolo Dybala head the other way to Old Trafford has hit a road block.
The obstacle is the personal terms that the Argentine is demanding before he signs, wanting wages of £350,000 a week to join the Red Devils. That would put him ahead of players like Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford, with only David de Gea and Alexis Sanchez ahead of him on the United pay scale.
And Dybala is refusing to accept a cut in his salary because of the lack of Champions League football, whilst the rest of the squad have already had to suffer a 25% reduction in their wages after missing out on Europe’s elite cup competition.
Dybala has been training on his own at Juventus whilst the transfer sag drags on, whilst Lukaku’s future remains mired in uncertainty as negotiations continue.
