Everton have been linked with a move for another Chelsea defender after their attempts to sign Kurt Zouma to a permanent deal were rebuffed. Zouma spent a successful loan spell at Goodison Park last season, and the Merseyside club wanted to make the move into a permanent deal.
However, with manager Frank Lampard insisting Zouma is part of his long-term plans at Stamford Bridge, Everton have now turned their attention to Zouma’s team mate Fikayo Tomori, who enjoyed an impressive loan spell of his own last season playing under his manager at Derby County.
Chelsea are keen for him to go out on loan again in order for him to gain more experience, but feel that it would not benefit him to drop down a league again, and that Tomori should be playing at the highest level.
Other Premier League clubs apart from Everton are also interested in the England under-21 international, and there has also been enquiries from the Bundesliga and Portugal.
