Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that he is unhappy with his lack of involvement in the club’s transfer business, and decisions as to who goes or stays at White Hart Lane by insisting that his job title should be changed from manager to coach.
Speaking after his side’s 1 – 0 friendly win over Real Madrid in Munich on Tuesday, he claimed to know little about the club’s plans on the transfer front saying “I am only coaching them and trying to get the best from them”.
In what may be regarded as a thinly veiled attack on chairman Daniel Levy at the way he runs the club, Pochettino made it clear that he was not involved in the buying or selling of players, or deciding who was awarded a contract or not.
His comments have alarmed Spurs fans worried that the Argentine may want to quit the club because of frustration as to his limited role at White Hart Lane. A campaign with the hashtag #BackPoch has begun trending on Twitter.
