Manchester United and Juventus are on the verge of completing a major swap deal which will see striker Romelu Lukaku move to Turin, with Argentine playmaker Paolo Dybala head in the opposite direction to Old Trafford.
Belgian international Lukaku has not featured at all for United in their pre-season, and was left out of the 26-man squad named for their friendly in Norway against Kristiansund. He has been consistently linked with a move to Inter Milan, but with Antonio Conté’s side apparently unable to meet United’s £75 million valuation of the striker, Inter’s bitter rivals Juventus look to have stolen a march on them.
The sticking point may be the unwillingness of Dybala to move to the Premier League, having vowed to stay with Juventus and to fight for his place. However, the club’s Sporting Director Fabio Paratici is apparently set on convincing him that the move would be in his best interest.
