Ryan Kent will not be returning to Rangers on loan again.
Kent enjoyed a highly successful spell at Ibrox last season, scoring 6 goals in 43 appearances, and was voted the PFA Scotland young player of the year. Steven Gerrard had been hoping to take him back for a further loan spell, but Liverpool are only ready to consider a permanent deal for the 22-year old.
Speaking after Liverpool’s friendly defeat to Napoli at Murrayfield, manager Jurgen Klopp said “His time is over for loans. At the age he is now, he needs to find a place where he can settle. We will see what happens but a loan is not planned”.
Liverpool are reported to have slapped a £8 million price tag on his head which may be beyond the current means of Rangers to meet.
However, Kent may still be on his way out of Anfield, following reports that he has wiped all mention of Liverpool from his social media accounts.
