Arsenal to launch loan bid for Juventus defender

Arsenal are ready to launch a bid to bring Juventus central defender Daniele Rugani on loan for the following season.

The Gunners have signed forward Gabriel Martinez and taken midfielder Dani Ceballos on loan, whilst they have been heavily linked with moves for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney and Lille winger Nicolas Pépé.

However, the biggest area of concern for most of the club’s supporters is strengthening defence that has conceded 102 goals in the last two Premier League campaigns. William Saliba has been signed from St. Etienne, but he is not available to next season, whilst Rob Holding will not be back from injury until September. Laurent Koscielny has no future at the club after effectively going on strike, whilst Shkodran Mustafi is widely regarded as a liability.

Whilst Arsenal do not have funds to buy Rugani outright,  a loan deal could suit both clubs, with the Italian likely to struggle for first-team opportunities in Turin with the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt.
