Jurgen Klopp has dampened down expectations of Liverpool fans than there may yet be big signings to come at Anfield this summer.
So far the only transfer that the club has made has been to sign 17 year old Sepp van der Bergen from Dutch side PEC Zwolle. And whilst the club continue to be linked with moves for the likes of Lille winger Nicolas Pépé, and a return to the club for Philippe Coutinho, Klopp has admitted that this will not be the club’s busiest transfer window, although he said “we are still looking”.
That is despite fears that the club may find itself short up front in the opening fixtures of the Premier League campaign. That is because the famous front three of Mo Salah, Sadio Mané, and Roberto Firmino are still to begin pre-season, due to participation in the African Cup of Nations and Copa América respectively.
However, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is back, having missed almost the whole of last season, and Klopp is hoping that he can make a big contribution to the side now that he is fully fit again.
