Arsenal have decided to drop their pursuit of Celtic full-back Scott Tierney and pursue other alternatives rather than be held to ransom by the Scottish champions.
The Gunners have been trying to get a deal in place for the Scottish international for two months now, but have failed to make any significant progress despite making three bids for Tierney, as Celtic have played hard ball and held out for their own valuation of the left-back.
With fears that talks could drag on right until the August 8th transfer deadline, Arsenal have decided to pursue other targets rather than let Celtic take negotiations down to the wire for the 22 year old.
Tierney himself is keen to move to The Emirates, knowing that he could triple his wages by joining the North London club. However, as things stand, it looks like he will still be a Celtic player at the start of the season.
