Spurs are on the brink of beating off competition from Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund to land long-term target Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham.
The North Londoners have long been linked with a move for the 19 year old, who is keen to leave Fulham after they were relegated back to the Championship at the end of last season.
The one sticking point remains the fee. Fulham want £45 million for the player. Who has been with them since the age of eight, and who still has one year left on his existing contract at Craven Cottage. For their part, Spurs are willing to pay £25 million plus add-ons for the teenager.
The club have already made moves to make room in their squad for Sessegnon by making England full-back Danny Rose available for transfer by not including him in their squad that travelled to Asia for their pre-season tour of Singapore and Shanghai.
