The future of Christian Eriksen remains undecided.
The 27 year old Danish playmaker, who has one year left on his current deal with Tottenham, has freely admitted that he is open to a new challenge, and Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are all reported to be interested in signing him.
And now Atlético Madrid, who have already signed Eriksen’s former Tottenham team mate Kieran Trippier, may be also ready to enter the fray, of they cannot secure their number one transfer target, James Rodriguez.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are not prepared to let the Dane go without a fight either, and have offered him a substantial new contract to entice him to stay at White Hart Lane.
The new deal is worth £200,000 a week, which is substantially more than the £80,000 he is paid under his current deal, although Eriksen has reportedly made it clear that money is not his prime motivation in seeking a move but the chance to test himself in a different environment.
