Crystal Palace are ready to reignite their interest in Arsenal full-back Carl Jenkinson, and could land him for as little as £5 million.
The 27-year old Gunners fan, who is currently touring with the club in America, is regarded by Palace as a potential replacement for the departed Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who have turned their attention back to him because any approach for their preferred alternative, Norwich City’s Max Aarons, is likely to fail with Spurs also interested in the 19 year old.
For their part, Arsenal are willing to let Jenkinson, who is very much a bit part player at the Emirates leave, after he played just eight times for the club last season. Even with first choice right-back Hector Bellerin injured for the second part of last season, Unai Emery usually preferred converted midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles to start ahead of him, and he is not part of his plans for the campaign to come.
