Arsenal are closing in on a deal to take midfielder Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid.
The 22-year old has been lined with a move to the Premier League next season, with both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool also interested in him, but now it looks like he could be headed to the Emirates, with officials from both clubs set to meet when the two teams play each other in a friendly in Maryland next week.
If he does sign, Ceballos will help to fill the gap left by the departed Aaron Ramsey, who has now joined Juventus.
The news comes as Unai Emery claimed in a press conference held in California during Arsenal’s pre-season tour of America that his side were hoping to bring in four new arrivals before the start of the season. When pressed about Ceballos in particular, though, Emery was non-committal except to say that he was a “very good player”.
