Liverpool refuse to rule out signing a left-back

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has refused to discount the possibility of the club signing a new left-back in the summer window as cover for Andy Robertson.

His regular left-back Andy Robertson is currently out of action, after undergoing minor surgery on his left hand due to infection picked up by an insect bite.

He will be back in training soon but, with Alberto Moreno having left the club following the expiration of his contract, Klopp is unsure whether he needs another suitable replacement for the 25-year old Scottish captain.

James Milner has played left-back on a regular basis in the past, and Joe Gomez has also filled in there, whilst pre-season games against Tranmere Rovers and Bradford City have given youngsters Yasser Larouci and Adam Lewis the chance to impress in the position.

For now Klopp is keeping tight-lipped about his options saying after the Bradford win “We have to think about everything and, in the end, maybe we do nothing, but we will see”.
