Philippe Coutinho has signalled his approval to a proposed loan which will see him head back to his former club Liverpool on a two year loan deal.
The 27-year old Brazilian has endured a torrid time at Barcelona since joining them in a £140 million move from Liverpool in January 2018, struggling for form and consistency on the pitch, and jeered from the stands by the team’s supporters.
Now his place in the Catalan side appears under further threat following the arrival at the Nou Camp of Antoine Griezmann from Atlético Madrid.
There has been speculation that he could be used as part of a make-weight in any deal to bring Neymar back to Barcelona from PSG, with Coutinho and cash going the other way to France, but the playmaker is more interested in a return to Anfield, and the chance to play under Jurgen Klopp again.
According to Spanish news outlet Calcio Mercato Liverpool have offered a two year loan with an option to buy at £88 million.
