Arsenal club legend Ian Wright has slammed Laurent Koscielny for his decision not to go on tour with the Gunners.
The 33-year old club captain refused to travel with the rest of the squad to the United States for their pre-season tour of the United States, as he tries to force his way out of the club. And Wright was not slow to condemn his actions, taking to his YouTube channel to make his feelings known.
Wright said “For our captain to refuse to go on a pre-season tour after nine years of unbelievable service, to kind of destroy your legacy a little bit in respect of refusing to play for a club that you’ve professed love for, is something that is baffling me.”
The former Gunners striker remains a passionate supporter of the club, and is so closely linked with them that he was used by Adidas to front two promotional videos to launch their new Arsenal kit.
Arsenal have also begun unspecified disciplinary action against Koscielny for his refusal to join the tour, which is likely to include a heavy monetary fine and being stripped of the club captaincy.
